Dogs welcome on request: 266 farms that will check your four-legged friend instead of rejecting them outright.

Not every dog-friendly farm displays the "dogs allowed" label from the outset. Many hosts prefer to decide on a case-by-case basis: How many dogs are coming? What breed? How big? What is the dog's temperament? This isn't mistrust, but rather a sense of responsibility towards the farm animals and other guests. A brief, personal inquiry with a few lines about your dog is worthwhile at these 266 farms, often with a positive outcome.

The farms are located in Bavaria, South Tyrol, Salzburg, Tyrol, Carinthia, Styria, and other regions in Germany, Austria, and Italy. Over 230 farms are specifically suitable for families, and 186 for couples. When inquiring, it is helpful to briefly mention the number, breed, size, and temperament of your dog and whether the dog has experience with farm animals.

How to formulate a successful dog inquiry

What you should specify

Please provide the number of dogs, your dog's breed and approximate weight, whether it is neutered/spayed, its behavior towards other animals and children, and how many dogs you are bringing with you. The more specific the information, the faster we can respond.

What influences the decision

Current occupancy, which farm animals are currently in the pasture, and whether other guests have children with them at the same time are all important factors to consider. Many farms are more likely to decline bookings from multiple dogs (three or more) or large, unfamiliar breeds than from single dogs or familiar family dogs.

Inquire early

These farms do not have an automatic booking option for dogs. Inquiring early significantly increases your chances of a booking, especially during peak season. An inquiry 2 to 3 months before your desired dates is ideal.
