Poststeig in Lajen
The Poststeig marked “P” starts in Lajen (1093 m, information) and leads eastwards on a dirt road to Tschöfas (1212 m, refreshment stop). With a constant view of the Sasso Lungo, the route continues through fields and meadows in a varied sequence. Above the hamlet of Tanürz the path runs through the forest, at the Felsonnes Höfen you briefly change to the underside of the main road and then reach St. Peter (1211 m, refreshment stop). Here you follow the partly new route (signs), then the ascending asphalt road to the Pedrutsch snack station (1210 m). An almost flat forest path leads southwards, above the Pontiveser Klause, along the partly rocky, steep forest slope. Here you cross a rockfall zone (handrail, sure-footedness required), then in a bend you reach the fields of Außerwinkel. Keeping right at the fork in the road, the “P” marker leads past the first houses of Außerwinkel to Nevelstraße, then via Bahnhofstraße to the center of St. Ulrich (1234 m, good bus connections).

Walther von der Vogelweide circular trail
The Walther v.d. Vogelweide circular trail starts at the Lajen sports field. On marker 35, also marked with Vogelweider circular trail, steadily descends slightly in the direction of Ried to the Vogelweider farm, the alleged birthplace of Walther v.d.Vogelweide. From the farm, follow the path downhill for about 300 meters, then turn right through Ried, past the church of St. Katharina and continue on the Eselsteig, also signposted with Vogelweider circular trail, to Albions. In Albions, turn right up in front of the church and follow path no. 5 back to the starting point. Various places to stop for a break in Lajen, Albions and Ried.

Arriving by car:
You can reach the Zehentner Manor via the A22 Brenner motorway from the north or south via the Klausen motorway exit. From the Klausen exit towards Val Gardena, it's a 15-minute drive, approximately 8 km, to the mountain village of Laion and our listed farm in the old village center.
Arriving by train:
All IC and EC trains stop in Bolzano (35 km) or Bressanone (18 km), some also stop in Chiusa (7 km). From there, there is a direct bus connection to Laion.
We will be happy to pick you up from the nearest train station or drop you off there directly. Or we can arrange a taxi for you.
Arriving by plane:
The nearest airports are in Innsbruck (100 km) and Verona (170 km).
