Horses on the farm 🐴 Riding, grooming and experiencing nature for the whole family

Few experiences connect children to nature as strongly as interacting with horses. Horses on a farm aren't just show animals; they are daily companions on the farm, during work, and in the riding arena. Anyone who has ever groomed, fed, or led a horse on a ride through mountain meadows immediately understands why riding holidays on a farm are among the most popular vacation options for families year after year.

On bauernhofurlaub.info you'll currently find 198 farms with horses in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, South Tyrol, and the Netherlands. All farms can be booked directly, without commission or intermediaries.

Why horses on the farm?

🐴 A genuine riding experience for all age groups

Many farms offer riding lessons, guided trail rides, and riding programs for children and adults, no prior experience necessary. Beginners are just as welcome as experienced riders who want to explore the mountains on horseback.

🪮 Experiencing care and responsibility

Grooming, saddling, feeding: On many farms, guests can actively participate in horse care. This strengthens children's sense of responsibility and creates a genuine connection with the animal.

🏔️ Horseback riding in beautiful countryside

Whether through Tyrolean alpine meadows, Salzburg mountain forests, or the Brandenburg lake district: horseback riding on farm horses leads through areas that would be almost impossible to reach on foot. An experience that delights adults and children alike.

🌿 Combining horseback riding and nature

Horse farms are often situated in particularly quiet, natural locations. Hiking trails, fresh mountain air, and the smell of the stables in the morning are all part of the experience. For many guests, this is the epitome of true relaxation.

This is what you can expect when visiting horses on a farm

The day often begins with morning feeding: guests who wish to can help with mucking out, feeding, and grooming. Then comes the riding arena: many farms offer guided riding lessons for children, beginner courses for adults, and guided trail rides through the surrounding area. Those who simply want to watch the horses grazing in the pasture will also find this option at any good horse farm. In the evening, many farms offer a sauna after a ride.
