Holiday at the Mittermoos organic farm – between the scent of pine, hay slides and warmth

At the end of April, we were on the road as part of our Tyrolean Unterland campaign to experience special holiday farms in person. Armed with cameras, questions, and curiosity, we discovered a place run by a host family with a lot of heart, craftsmanship, and an eye for the essentials: the Mittermoos organic farm in Fieberbrunn.

A farm with history and future

The Mittermoos organic farm is certified as a family farm and also bears the coveted Top Hof 2025 seal, a symbol of exceptional quality, hospitality, and family friendliness.

The Mittermooshof has stood in its current location in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps for over 200 years. The current generation took over the business in 2010, and in 2019, it expanded with the addition of two modern holiday apartments, built with plenty of wood and heart.

Anyone who has stayed here once understands why many guests return year after year. It's this blend of authenticity and well-being that can't be replicated.

Holiday with children on the farm

Boredom is a foreign word here. On the spacious farm grounds , children can embark on a true journey of discovery : feeding cows, calves, sheep, miniature pigs, ducks, chickens, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits – or helping with haymaking in the middle of the barn. Animal feeding begins at 5:15 p.m., followed by the popular hay slide.

But that's not all: A large play tower with a sandpit, slide, swing and climbing opportunities is available, as well as a trampoline, table tennis table, mini tractor and paddling pool.

Even the little ones are taken care of: a cot, stroller, high chair and baby monitor are available.

A special highlight is the children's program in town: At the Tatzi Club, supervised by trained educators, the little ones experience adventures in the mountains, at the lake, and of course, on the farm. Friendships are formed along the way – and a sense of nature is developed.

Regional. Transparent. Sustainable.

The Mittermoos organic farm is a classic Tyrolean suckler cow operation. In summer, the cows are moved to the alpine pastures, and the farm's own meat is sold directly and without detours.

Climate protection is also practiced here:

• CO²-neutral wood chip heating with wood from the region
• 100% electricity from renewable energy sources
• Water from the farm's own Karstein spring
• SodaStream in all holiday apartments
• Extensive renovation to reduce energy consumption
• Use of natural materials in construction
• E-charging station for cars available
• Free use of public transport with the guest card between Wörgl and Hochfilzen
