Cows (Simmental cattle)

We have 11 dairy cows on our farm that are milked every day. We deliver our milk to Kärntnermilch in Spittal an der Drau. We also produce butter, curd cheese and various types of cheese. A great refreshment in summer: creamy buttermilk!

Scettland ponies

Hello! My name is Anabelle. I live with my mom Lilli next to the cows with the Walder family. You can also ride on my mom Lilli. But we also think walking or grooming is great! We love being outside in the countryside and snacking on fresh, juicy grass! Mmmhhh. If everything works out, I'll soon be able to ride in too. Then the two of us can go for a walk with your parents!

Dwarf goats

Mimi and Erich love to run around the farm! They love to nibble on the hedges and roses. But they also really like banana peels!

Pigs

We also have 2 pigs on our farm, our meat suppliers. In the morning the two of them are already squealing as they wait for breakfast. Our pigs provide us with good meat such as schnitzel and roasts. But liver sausage and cooked sausages are also a delicacy!

Chicken

5 - 10 chickens provide us with fresh eggs every day. Together with their rooster, the animals run around in the large outdoor run, scratch and bathe contentedly in the sand! In the morning you will wake up with a lively Kikeriki!! :-)

Our bunnies

Our rabbit hutch is in front of the stable entrance. Two young bunnies are cavorting there and are happy about a juicy carrot or good dandelion. You are also welcome to clean the rabbit hutch!

Holiday apartment "Cornflower"

The big one - for parents, children and grandparents! Our cornflower is lovingly furnished in a country house style. It also has three separate bedrooms, two bathrooms with shower/toilet, a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room with a balcony and a wonderful view of the lake and our mountains!

Holiday apartment “Lovage”

Our lovage was individually installed in the attic. It has a large master bedroom, a cozy children's room (robber's den), bathroom with shower/toilet and a fully equipped kitchen. In the cozy living room you can really enjoy the wonderful view of the lake!

hikes

The beautiful Millstätter Alm is worth a trip at any time of the year! You can drive to the Lammersdorfer Hütte and then experience the most beautiful hikes. A summit cross for the little ones awaits you on the “Jufen” in just half an hour on foot. Via the Enzian - Granatsteig you go up to the “Granattor”. A wonderful 2-hour hike with lots of impressions for parents and children. Cows and their calves also spend the summer on the alpine pasture. At the dairy hut, 32 cows are milked and their milk is processed into delicious cheese and butter. You are welcome to take part in a dairy tour twice a week! Let yourself be surprised......

I am Monika! Together with my husband Peter and mother-in-law Erika, we are the third generation to run the Forstnighof. We have, as the saying goes, “every louse on foot.” Many different animals have a good home on our farm. In addition to the dairy cows and their calves, we also have ponies, dwarf goats, pigs and chickens. We rent 3 cozy holiday apartments in the farmhouse. Peter also works as a farrier.
