Innsbruck, a few bends above the city, we're visiting Nattererboden today. A place that's hard to describe, but easy to sense: a farm, an inn, a home for many, and perhaps for you too, for a short time.

Between meadows, forest and inn

“We have a little paradise above Innsbruck.” That’s how the hostess describes it, and yes, that’s pretty accurate.

The farm is located in a clearing in the middle of the forest, with views of the Nordkette mountain range, yet only minutes from the city. The farm is known for its rare, endangered animal breeds, which find a safe home here.

From Tyrolean stone sheep to the ancient goat breed. And because the stable and pasture doors are usually open, you might occasionally see a few curious goats peek into the inn. This isn't a show; it's simply Nattererboden.

A farm that grows with you

Renting out the property started as a side business, but today there are three cozy double rooms and two holiday apartments, lovingly furnished with wooden floors (allergy-friendly!) and views of the playground, meadow, or animal enclosure.

A simple breakfast can be booked upon request, with freshly prepared egg dishes from the kitchen.

The farm is a true family business: six children are part of the family, the first of which are already part of the management team. And you can feel it: people work together, share ideas, and, above all, live life together.

Goat yoga & vegan cuisine – why not?

Sometimes you just need fresh ideas. And at Nattererboden, these usually come from the next generation. For example , goat and sheep yoga has recently been offered. Right on the large meadow, with a view of the greenery and accompanied by curious but relaxed four-legged friends. There's also something new in the kitchen: The daughter is experimenting with vegan dishes and combining them with Tyrolean regional specialties.

What remains is the well-known inn quality, and what is added is creativity on the plate.

Although Nattererboden is located in the middle of nature, it is perfectly connected and therefore ideal for days of discovery in and around Innsbruck:

• Numerous alpine hikes are accessible from the farm in just a few minutes. Ideal for families with children, including a snack bar and panoramic views.
• Bergisel Ski Jump & Tirol Panorama: Impressive architecture meets Tyrolean history.
• Innsbruck's Old Town with the Golden Roof, the Hofburg Palace, and the Alpine Zoo. A city feel and wildlife experience can be wonderfully combined here.
• Natterer See: Popular bathing lake just a few minutes away, ideal for a summer refreshment.

If you consciously choose to vacation without a car, you can reach many destinations by public transport or directly on foot.
