Description holiday farm
Wine means enjoyment, wine means joy of life. And this special attitude to life takes on a whole new meaning at the Kornell Winery. At the foot of the Greifensteiner slope, in the middle of the vineyards, is the Kornell estate and the Schafferhaus. It is the oldest building on the farm and reflects pure joie de vivre, but also serenity, peace and security. The term “Schafferhaus” comes from a time when the noble Seyffertitz-Wolkenstein family still had the say here and employed winegrowers and vintners on the farm. These people worked in the vineyards and laid the foundation for the new wine with their hands. They were called “Schaffer”, hence the name of the building. This is where people came to rest in the evening, where they could recover from work and the stresses of the day.
Today, the only thing that matters at Schafferhaus is that you feel comfortable. Here you will find everything you need in a retreat to relax and unwind. At the same time, you have the opportunity to experience the work in the vineyards, on the farm and perhaps even in the historic wine cellar up close. At Ansitz Kornell, the line between guest and friend is fluid.

Schafferhaus Cosmas
Here, centuries-old tradition is combined with innovative ideas from a new generation that places value on the old and puts it at the center. Historical unique pieces adorn this apartment on the upper floor of the building. For example, an old door was given new life: it was converted into a TV table. The dining table dates back to the last century. And the Schafferhaus Cosmas is not short of surprises: a spacious living room with an ancient, open gable awaits you. The view is impressive; you can see the vineyards from the bathroom, the bedroom and the kitchen corner.

The Schafferhaus Zeder is on the ground floor and is particularly impressive due to its antique wooden ceiling. It was already there in the original house and was brought up to date with precise fine work. In every corner and wherever your gaze wanders, you will discover surprising, well-thought-out and positioned details in this apartment. For example, the wooden table in the living room could tell you a few stories; it dates back to the 17th century and was already a meeting place in the Brigl family's former home. In the bathroom and bedroom, too, modern lines repeatedly meet historical elements, wood on stone, old on new. The view of the vineyards lets you forget all the exertions of the day.
