Gasthof Pesbichl – Nature & hospitality on the sun terrace
Far away from everyday life, about 6 km outside of Goldegg – on a sunny hill with panoramic views of the Salzburg mountains – lies Gasthof Pesbichl, a lovingly run farm with a 3-flower categorization as part of the holiday on a farm. Nestled in meadows, forests and the backdrop of imposing peaks, the Pesbichl offers an idyllic combination of rural tranquility and warm hospitality.
The inn has nine comfortable non-smoking double rooms (some with an extra bed, all with a balcony or terrace) and three holiday apartments (for up to six people or larger for up to sixteen guests in the adjoining holiday house). All accommodations feature solid wood furniture, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, an electric kettle, and homemade tea blends.
The Pesbichl holiday home offers flexible privacy for large families or groups of friends – with five bedrooms, two kitchen-living rooms, four bathrooms, and direct access to the courtyard and all communal facilities.
Culinary – homemade & regional
The chef, Michaela Hettegger, personally runs the kitchen and spoils guests with typical Salzburg home-style cooking, often supplemented with her own products such as bacon, cheese, jams and herbs from the farm. Vegetarians and guests with allergies receive individual consideration.
A sumptuous breakfast buffet with homemade bread and spreads, honey, fruit, yogurt, eggs and much more is available to our guests daily. In the afternoon, the kitchen spoils guests with free coffee and homemade cake when booking half board.
Dinner consists of a lovingly prepared 4-course half-board menu, including soup of the day, salad, at least two main courses (meat, fish, and vegetarian), dessert, cheese, ice cream, or fruit—all freshly prepared to the highest quality standards.
Farm & Animals – Experience nature up close
The farm is home to a variety of animal residents: Pinzgauer cows, silkie chickens, ducks, wild sheep, rabbits, as well as two farm dogs and cats. The animals are freely accessible – children in particular can help with feeding and caring for them and actively experience life on the farm.
A petting zoo and agricultural surprises such as trout fishing opportunities and herbal workshops enrich your stay.
Wellness & Garden – Relaxation without compromise
In the garden, a natural swimming pond, a sauna in a garden barrel and sunbathing lawns with parasols and deck chairs invite you to relax. Use is included for half-board guests.
Family & child-friendliness
Child-friendly design is a top priority: a large playground with a giant trampoline, a separate playroom with table tennis, table football, and painting and craft supplies ensure lots of fun.
Activities & Surroundings
Spring, summer and autumn
The Salzburger Almenweg leads directly past the farm and offers daily access to easy or challenging hikes.
Just 500m away is the Böndlsee, a crystal-clear bathing lake – perfect for swimmers and sun-seekers. Lake Goldegg can also be reached in just a few minutes by car.
For mountain bikers, the famous Watzmann-Hochkönig circuit passes right by – ideal for cycling tours from the house.
In the surrounding area you will find highlights such as the Lichtensteinklamm, the Geisterberg in St. Johann or the Alpentherme Bad Hofgastein.
Winter:
Cross-country ski trails start nearby – access is possible directly from the farm.
The well-known ski areas of the Sportwelt Amadé, the Gastein Valley and the Hochkönig can be reached in about 20 minutes by car or shuttle.
Guests benefit from the free ski bus service and can explore the surrounding area without a car.
Snowshoe hikes, horse-drawn sleigh rides and events such as Advent Magic or Perchten walks in the surrounding area provide winter romance.
Mobility & Extras – practical & uncomplicated
Upon arrival, all guests receive a Mobility Card, which allows free use of buses and trains throughout SalzburgerLand – including a shuttle to Goldegg and Schwarzach train stations. Free parking is of course available.
