Eggeler family hiking farm in the Lesachtal
In a wonderful place of power, in the middle of the unspoiled hiking paradise of Lesachtal, the centuries-old, traditional Eggelerhof sits enthroned at 1,170 m above sea level, surrounded by imposing mountain ridges.
Real country life to participate in
Experience how fresh milk is used to make butter and yogurt and how delicious farmer's bread is made from freshly ground flour from our own mill. Cows, goats, pigs and cats roam the farmyard and invite help in the barn and in the fields. Everyone is welcome to help with milking, haymaking and animal care.
Accommodation with character
The farm offers rooms, holiday apartments and the special holiday home Kastl: an original renovated, approximately 200-year-old granary with private sauna, hot tub, two bedrooms and a magnificent panoramic view of the Lesach valley. The holiday apartments Steinwand and Lärche (each approx. 60 m²) are furnished exclusively with local natural materials.
Breakfast with a view
The day begins with breakfast on the sun terrace with a view of the Carnic Alps. A bread roll delivery service is also available.
Hiking and pure nature
The Lesach Valley is considered one of the most pristine valleys in Austria. Hiking trails start directly from the farm. The 4-flower organic mountain farm is only open in summer: 8. May to September 25.

Our animals:

Our cows are taken to pasture every day and brought back home in the evening. Felician or Hans do the daily barn chores and are always happy to have help.
Although the cows look very similar, they all have names.

Our goat Lissi is always with the herd of cows and leads them. She probably thinks she's a cow herself.

Frieda and Luna
Our cats Frieda and Luna roam the yard. When they're not busy caring for kittens, they roam the entire neighborhood.
