Badia a Coltibuono, Abbey of 1051, is the first Wine Resort in Chianti that offers a truly exceptional experience. With its 800 hectares of forest, it is possible to go trekking, mountain biking, e-biking, hiking without leaving the property.
In the woods of Badia, you will also find Cetamura, our archaeological site with its sacred well and the birth of viticulture. The finds from the archaeological site are exhibited at the Origo Museum in Gaiole, a few kilometers from our hotel.
We offer unique Cooking Class experiences to learn Tuscan cuisine in a historic family kitchen, where Lorenza de’ Medici was the master. Today “the Ladies of the Kitchens” continue her work. Visits to the Abbey, the thousand-year-old cellar and tastings of our wines, including historic vintages, allow you to spend unforgettable days.
Guests can rest and relax in the magnificent Italian Garden, in the private swimming pool with hydromassage or around the outdoor pool. At 650 meters above sea level, summer offers pleasant temperatures and the evening is cool in our panoramic restaurant. WiFi is available in rooms and public areas.
